The Space Between

The story takes place on a distant planet called Amoi, where everything is controlled by a supercomputer named Jupiter. To breed superior “children,” Jupiter directly manipulates genes, and thus a group of blond-haired, fair-skinned “social elites” were created to become humanity’s administrators; though powerful, each of them is cold and ruthless. With living space entirely taken away, humans can only live like ants in the slums, fighting over the few remaining resources with force and by forming gangs—Riki is one of them. By chance, Riki meets a man named Iason. Iason’s flawless appearance and dazzling blond hair make clear to Riki the vast chasm between their classes, and yet between these two people, who could absolutely never be together, a deeply tangled relationship somehow develops.
