DramaDescription
The genius painter Feng Pishou is extraordinarily talented, yet inside he hides the trauma and inferiority brought by his family of origin. He suffers from long-term insomnia and emotional exhaustion, unable to sleep peacefully. By a stroke of fate, he books a psychological counselor with a top reputation in the field.
The counselor appears cold and restrained, has severe germaphobia, is used to keeping a safe distance from everyone, and is skilled at dissecting people's hearts. At first, he only sees Feng Pishou as an ordinary client. But through one consultation after another, the two slowly break the therapist-client boundary.
Feng Pishou is drawn to the other man's steady, gentle core, so he actively approaches him and makes straightforward advances; the counselor, while accompanying Feng Pishou through his healing, also lowers the emotional defenses he has kept closed for so long. Both meet carrying their own loneliness and wounds, moving from testing the waters, push-and-pull, ambiguity, to mutual healing.
The title “Did You Sleep Today?” is a gentle question that runs through the entire drama. It is both concern for the insomniac painter and a tender secret code unique to the two of them. They slowly soothe the scars in each other's hearts, learn to accept their imperfect selves, and finally run toward each other, gaining steady companionship and love, with a perfect ending.
