ComicDescription
When transfer student Finn is assigned Elias, a quiet student photographer who speaks through his viewfinder, to show him around the fog-stitched town of Centerfield, he expects nothing but awkward silence. Instead, exploring the old railway station after hours, they discover a hidden metal box wedged beneath a bench. Inside is a sprawling, anonymous photo project: hundreds of candid Polaroids clipped together, each capturing a different goodbye — hands slipping apart, last glances through train windows, lips mouthing words that steam the cold air. Consumed by the mystery, Finn draws Elias into tracing the photographer. The deeper they dig, the more Finn realizes that Elias's flinch at every image, his perfect recall of each sunset and tearful wave, is not merely empathy. Elias is the one freezing these farewells, compulsively documenting departures he never dares join, turning the station into a reliquary of lost connections. Their relationship kindles in the glimmer of shared secrets — saying nothing but understanding everything. Yet the core conflict surfaces: Finn is only here for a single semester before his own train leaves. Elias must decide whether to hide behind the lens and make Finn his final, most devastating subject, or to finally step into the frame, put down the camera, and risk a love that does not end with a goodbye. The project transforms from a record of parting into a shared first portrait of staying.
