Kael Sharma moves through the hallways of Brimley High like a ghost, his camera always slung across his chest. As the school's quiet yearbook photographer, he has spent years documenting the lives of others—framing smiles, capturing fleeting glances—while never stepping into the frame himself. When Ezra Blackwell arrives mid-semester, a transfer student fleeing a fractured home and a farewell he cannot forgive, Kael is assigned to show him around. Their afternoons drift to the fog-wrapped train station at the edge of town, where Kael lingers long after the final bell.
