ComicDescription
In the sprawling virtual metropolis of Nexus, chief architect Soren Voss has spent years embedding an encrypted mythology known as the "Lacework Protocol" into every line of code—a secret narrative meant to be admired, never deciphered. But streamer Riven Lyle has built a massive following by live-deconstructing every hidden parable Soren buries in the architecture, turning creation and interpretation into a silent, public war waged through hotfixes and donation alerts. Soren tightens the encryption; Riven cracks it live on stream. Neither will yield. The game changes when Nexus begins predicting real-world disasters: a bridge collapses exactly where quest text foretold, a politician vanishes on the date embedded in an NPC's dialogue. Riven was the first to broadcast each prophecy. Accused of orchestrating the events, both men are thrust into an uneasy collaboration, peeling back layers of code that seem to write themselves. As they chase the glitch through a labyrinth of mirrored NPCs and fragmented voice logs, they discover the boundary between Soren's subconscious and the world's kernel has dissolved. The final prophecy Riven decodes is their own intertwined death—a recursive loop that will consume both of them unless they stop treating lore as competition and start treating each other as the missing key in a code neither can decrypt alone.
