ComicDescription
Adrian and his roommate Leo take a road trip to deliver a hand-drawn wedding pavilion sketch to a remote countryside venue. Halfway down a winding coastal road, a violent storm floods the tires, forcing them to abandon the car and trudge uphill with nothing but Adrian's battered single umbrella. Drenched and shivering, they reach the last inn in the valley — a centuries-old stone lodge with only one tiny attic room left, one narrow bed pushed against the sloped ceiling. Adrian, perpetually buttoned-up and allergic to disorder, braces himself to share the quilt with Leo, whose sunshine refuses to dim even when lightning snaps the power lines. Candlelight shrinks the room; the drumming rain swallows the silence they have been hiding behind for two years. Every accidental touch under the blanket lingers, each shuffled breath a confession they are not yet bold enough to voice. Leo tells ghost stories to lighten the mood, but his voice trembles when Adrian's knuckles brush his thigh. Adrian, miserably aware of his own heartbeat, realizes the storm has done more than trap them — it has removed every excuse to look away. Come morning, the sky will clear, but under one umbrella on the walk back, they will have to decide if they are still just roommates, or if a single bed has finally given them permission to stop pretending.
